They used boats and ships to move
along the Nile and trade their crops, gold,
papyrus, linen and other merchandise.
They did their trading along ports on the
Nile as well as met with traders from
other civilizations.
However, they rarely went beyond the
Nile River into the Mediterranean Sea as
the Greeks used to do. And if they did go
out into the Sea to trade, they were
careful to move along the coastline and
not go deeper in.
As a way of leisure traveling and
relaxation, Pharaohs ordered the
construction of fancy ships so they can
travel along the Nile.
