Looking at pictures of the Nile, you
may think it is one long weaving river
when in fact it is divided into 2
sections known as tributaries.
Tributaries are rivers that are small in
size and run separately but then
combine and become one. The Nile’s
tributaries are called the White Nile
and the Blue Nile.
Over 8,000 years ago, the first people
who set up villages along the banks of
the Nile were fishermen and hunters.
They learned how to grow crops and
raised animals.
