9 Do the same for the rest of the strands. Repeat the process for a
further four tucks, going over and under in an anticlockwise direction.
10 Pull the ends tight. The splice can then be rolled underfoot or
pounded with a marlinspike or fid to smooth it out. Trim the ends flush,
and seal them if necessary.
