Axle hitch

The main function of this knot is to spread the

load either across a bar (such as an axle) or between
two fixed points. It can also be used to attach hard-

to-reach objects (such as an axle), with the knot
itself tied in a more open space.

1 Put a bight in the end of the rope and pass it over the bar, from the back

to the front.
