Slip & nip loop
There’s a certain deliberate logic to this knot,
which is fascinating to knot-tyers: the two turns act
like a pair of jaws, which ‘bite’ the end more tightly
the more weight is applied to the loop. And the knot
can be broken by pulling the two loops apart. For the
rest of us, it’s just a jolly useful, all-round noose.
1 Put an underhand loop in the end of the line.
