Multiplait chain splice

Multiplait is the best modern rope to use for an

anchor line, but as with three strand (here), you have
the problem of joining the rope to the chain without

creating an ungainly lump. Once again, the solution
is a long splice – but this time going into the chain

itself. Once you get your head around all those bits

of string, it’s not as difficult as it looks. Honest!

1 Count the number of tucks you’re going to make by the links of chain –

15 is sufficient – and mark it off on the line.
