               Bowyer’s knot

Needless to say, there’s a special knot for tying bow

strings, called a bowyer’s knot. It’s the same knot
used by woodsmen to tie timber (here) and by

               musicians to tie guitar strings.

1 Tie an overhand knot in the end of the string.
