Carrick Bend Mirror
The final steps of creating the carrick bend.
16-inch circular mirror
58 feet of ¼-inch cotton rope
white glue
sharp knife or scissors
ruler
To encircle the mirror pictured here (16 inches by 16
inches), you’ll need a chain of 19 knots.
Follow these steps to make the knots to encircle
the mirror. Use the diagram for reference:
1> Middle the rope (fold it in half) and cut it at the
midpoint. Pick up the two strands and middle
them again, so that you have two 29-foot strands
on either side of the midpoint.
The pattern for tying the carrick bend into a chain of
knots.
