Introductions
After a brief round of introductions, we enjoyed a wonderful riverside view and a great meal.
Kathy Sharbono shared the following:
The annual AIBL Leadership Conference will be held July 14th - 15th, 2022 at the Agua Caliente Resort at Rancho Mirage, California. There will be a total of 13 Tribal College & University Chapters competing in the Business Plan Competition. They expect the audience will consist of approximately 150 attendees.
AIBL has experienced tremendous Chapter growth this year. For the 2021-22 school year, they have acquired 14 new Chapters, bringing the total number to 40 Chapters around the country.
Rick mentioned to Kathy that he would be sending contact information or the schools in North Carolina as they were both interested in creating a student chapter.
Although Dr. Joe McDonald, the former President of the Salish Kootenai College and one of the founders of AIBL is retired, he remains active in the program.
Dr. Larry Gianchetta was the former Dean of the Business School at the University of Montana-Missoula and was another one of the founders of the American Indigenous Business Leaders program. The offices continue to be located on the campus of the University of Montana.
Prairie Bighorn-Blount expressed thanks for the on-going JSF support.
