2.1.3 Written communication
The most common written communication used is Email. The written communication
must be professional by using proper grammar and punctuation. It must be clear
and concise as it is difficult to show and read emotions in written communication.
WhatsApp messages are also considered legally approved as a written
communication. Clear and concise writing skills permits to communicate the
message to a far larger audience than through face-to-face or telephone
conversations.
Correct grammar, punctuation and spelling are important in written
communications. Errors will result in negative impression.
2.1.4 Visual communication
Visual communication is the transmission of information through symbols and images.
It is mostly used in the medical industry. Visual communication helps to complement
verbal communication and also helps to maintain interest and retain information.
Different elements used in visual communication are:
• Colours
• Design
• Advertising
• Animations
• Illustrations
• Typography
• Presentations
• Videos
Visual communication is used to navigate and understand the world. Visual
communication must be analyzed through different perspectives such as personal,
historical, technical, ethical, cultural, and critical.
