Communicate in the workplace
People with this style tend to criticize, protest, hostile, stubborn and complain about
being unappreciated. People at the receiving end will feel hurt, angry and
confused.
Some medical conditions associated with passive-aggressive behavior are stress,
anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, alcohol abuse etc.
2.3.5 Submissive
People with this style of communication are the one to please others and avoid
conflicts. People generally tend to prefer others and put the needs of others first as
they feel that other people needs are more important and they have more rights
than theirs.
People with this style will feel inferior and will have tough time with colleagues and
friends. They always feel apologetic and feel like they are the victim. They will never
take responsibility to make decisions.
People at receiving end will feel guilty and frustrated. And few take the advantage
and achieve goals at the cost of them.
2.3.6 Manipulative
People with this style are very skilled at controlling or influencing others for their own
advantage. Manipulating is an effective method to get things done, but at an
expense. People often make others people guilt and get their job done. They can
even get artificial tears to make the situation more real.
Voice of the people with this style is envious, patronizing, high pitch and ingratiating.
People on the receiving end will feel guilt, angry and frustrated.
2.4 Communication equipment
Communication equipment are the devices that aid in the communication process
between the individuals. Communication equipment exists in different forms. Each
form is unique in their operational way and usage. Different types of communication
equipment are:
a) Telephone
Basic telephone is user friendly. Some workplace telephone systems are more
complicated than the basic ones. Hence the person who operates telephone must
be aware of different function keys such as hold, answer, transfer, conference and
speaker.
