Human Performance

Concentration is a will-based action that keeps attention at the highest level.

These processes are interdependent: the more you concentrate, the less

attentive you are to your surroundings.

And if you are highly attentive to everything happening in your environment, it

is difficult to concentrate on something specific.

                2.7.3 Different components of attention

Attention is a complex cognitive function, and it is for good reason that

attention is a main area of focus in neuropsychology and cognitive psychology.

Attention and concentration are fundamental necessities for all human

cognitive functions. Below are the different components that attention consists
                of.

                2.7.3.1 Selective attention

Our sensory receptors constantly receive information from the environment in

the form of sounds, smells, etc. It is impossible to process all the information

                that meets our senses.

All the information can be said to be in a competition with each other.

With selective attention, the information that should be processed is chosen

and prioritized based on its relevance, or what is needed in a given situation.

Selective attention makes it possible to focus on a specific thing while ignoring

information that is not relevant, without physically having to move away from
                the irrelevant information.
