Aircraft general knowledge
Through cooperation between aircraft
manufacturers, airlines and the Authority
(the Danish Transport Authority), a high
level of flight safety is ensured.
Every time an accident or serious incident
occurs, the cause is carefully examined so
that action can be taken.
8.2.1.1 Inspection
Our small aircraft are inspected every 50 hours.
There are differences between the inspections. They are called 50-, 100-, 200-
and 500-hour inspections.
- During a 50-hour inspection, the aircraft is inspected for oil and various
other small items.
- A 100-hour inspection is more comprehensive than a 50-hour inspection.
Each year, the aircraft must have had at least one 100-hour inspection.
- 200-hour and 500-hour inspections are even more comprehensive. The
time between major repairs can be calendar time or flight time.
In addition, there is a requirement that the aircraft must have an annual
inspection once in the past 12 months. Among the documents in the aircraft, we
have an airworthiness certificate.
This is in principle valid forever as long as the aircraft is airworthy and there is a
valid airworthiness review certificate ARC.
8.2.1.2 Engine time and calendar time
Aircraft engines must be replaced or overhauled at very specific intervals.
