Aircraft general knowledge
8.2.2 Airworthiness and documents
In order for an aircraft to be considered airworthy, all requirements regarding
the aircraft's documents, maintenance, equipment, etc. must be met.
In the Operational Procedures course, the aircraft's documents are reviewed -
you can take a look there if you want to see all the documents.
8.2.2.1 Airworthiness Review Certificate (ARC)
In addition, there is a requirement that the aircraft must have an annual
inspection once during the past 12 months inspection. A so-called Airworthiness
Review Certificate (ARC) is issued. The ARC is issued in connection with the
regular inspections that all aircraft must have.
8.2.2.2 Airworthiness Certificate
Among the documents in the aircraft, we have an airworthiness certificate.
This is in principle valid forever as long as the aircraft is airworthy and there is a
valid airworthiness review certificate ARC.
8.2.2.3 Checklists
Aircraft must also have checklists that describe both normal procedures and
emergency procedures.
The strict American requirements for product liability have had a major influence
on the preparation of these. So, if you follow the aircraft manual, you are within
the limitations of the aircraft.
8.2.2.4 POH
The aircraft manufacturer produces an operations manual for each aircraft type.
It is an 'instruction manual' for using the aircraft.
