Aircraft general knowledge
This prevents sparks from static electricity from occurring when refueling.
3) Then fuel is poured in.
4) Remember to have the tank caps installed properly. Fuel can be sucked up
from the tank during flight if the cap has fallen off.
5) Before starting the engine, press the mixture lever so that the mixture
becomes rich.
6) Place the tank selector on the tank we want to use.
7) Using the primer pump, which is a small hand-operated pump, fuel is
pumped directly to the cylinder intake (before the valve). The pump is locked
after use, as otherwise fuel can be sucked through it, which can lead to
increased consumption (in cold weather it may be necessary to continue
priming to keep the engine running).
8) Switch on the electric fuel pump and check the fuel pressure. Turn on the
magnetos and start the engine.
9) Switch off the electric fuel pump, check that the mechanical fuel pump
provides sufficient pressure.
10) While taxiing, switch to the other tank to check that it is also accessible.
It is normal to start and land on the most full tank and with the petrol pump on.
8.5.3.5 During take-off

This means:
- Throttle, full power
- Mixture on rich mixture
- Carburetor heat on cold
