Aircraft general knowledge
In the left part there are engine instruments, so you can follow the oil pressure,
oil temperature and cylinder temperature. If something is wrong, you get a
warning via. monitoring.
The radio and transponder are in the panel between the screens.
At the top are the basic analog instruments required for VFR flights (air speed
indicator, altimeter, attitude indicator and magnetic compas), if the modern
ones should fail.
8.12.10.4 Latest technology AHRS (Attitude and Heading Reference System)
In the previous material we have looked at mechanical gyro-driven instruments
when attitude was to be displayed via instruments.
When headings had to be determined, it was according to the compass reading
corrected for influence from the electromagnetic influences of the aircraft. The
gyros were subject to errors as a result of the Earth's rotation and bearing wear,
etc.
The development of electronic microchips has today meant that we have new
types of instruments in our aircraft.
The AHRS system consists of sensors on 3 axes.
The system uses information from the 3
axes to calculate the aircraft's current
heading and attitude information, e.g.
roll, pitch, and yaw.
The result is computer-generated and
displayed on a display.
