Once you have understood how to use the computer, you are equipped to solve
the tasks from the Distance Learning page.
Here is a little about how to find the crosswind component (CRP1W).
If the wind is 30° OFF, it
                means 30° different from the
runway direction, so it is half
                the crosswind.
Given is: runway 27 and wind
                          o
                from 240 and 20 Kt.
                We get:
crosswind 10 Kt headwind 18 Kt
With CRP1 we get with the same conditions:
If the wind is 30° OFF, meaning 30° different from the runway direction, then it
                is half the crosswind.
                                                             o
Given is: runway 27 and wind from 240 and
                20 Kt.
                   1) Set wind direction 240 under Index
                   2) Slide the slider so that the grommet is at
20 (= wind speed) on the straight
                      lines
                   3) Place a dot on the 0 mark
                   4) Now turn the dial so that the
course direction 27 is under Index
                   5) Read: headwind 18 Kt (vertical
                      distance from grommet to dot)
crosswind 10 Kt (horizontal distance from grommet to dot)
