A Tour Not at All Boring
Boredom. Doubts. Fear that everything will remain the same
in future.
I was feeling like that almost every day.
I went to the boarding school, spending lots of time there.
The school had almost replaced home for me. It was there that
I first met outstanding teachers and tutors who were doing their
best to teach us everything they knew. But some years later the
school curriculum started to seem boring and repeatable and
I did not know how to entertain myself, inventing various tricks
(I apologize for that to all the teachers of our boarding school).
Being kids, we always found it interesting when some new
people visited our boarding school. Thus, I met with the volun-
teers of the charity program “Generation Choice”. They often
came to see us, speaking about various professions, many of
which we had never heard of before, telling what kind of experts
were in demand and what specialists were excessively presented
in the labor market; what skills were required for a particular job,
how to submit a CV applying for a job, about the demands of
recruiters/customers; how much money a regular worker earns
per month, etc. These lectures and presentations were not at all
boring, presented in a game format. This helped me to digest the
information.
Besides playing these games, we went on excursions to the
following companies: IT park, a KFC restaurant, a bank, a plant
that produces packaging for food products and some other or-
ganizations. My friends and I were very keen on seeing the real
work places and offices. We were communicating with regular
people, with the big company employees – each excursion was
so curious! I was never bored even for a moment.
I think that this program helps to dissolve not only boredom
but also fears and doubts connected with the future, it helps to
learn oneself better, study the society, to orientate oneself – how
to behave among others, how to choose and find a job. This is
great and useful. I thank all the sponsors who provided assis-
tance and supported this project.
