Tips against

knife attacks

Can we unarm a man who plans to make an end of
our lives? It is likely that, most expert or beginner
masters would quickly respond “Yes”. But there is a
small group of persons where I am included who
would not respond such a difficult question with
simple words; a deep analysis on a situation related
to life or death is needed.

I have noticed that sometimes the techniques tau-
ght at the Dojos are far from the reality that the
practitioners will face at the streets. So, they cannot
face them adequately. It is derived from their lack
of physical and psychological training.

From my point of view, to unarm someone is a
complex task, it is dangerous and demands a full
study, based on respect and seriousness; one must
try to choose real performance techniques for a
real environment. But, these elements do not work
if they are not supported by theoretical foundations
that will help to surpass this type of situation.
