VOLUNTARY FACULTY AND OTHER
CORE VOLUNTEER TEACHING FACULTY
DR. ALEX BADIAVAS
assistant chief of Dermatology at the Miami VA Medical Center. A 2015 graduate of
our program, Alex is a devoted teacher and a wonderful resource for residents. He
is exceedingly active in a variety of teaching conferences including doing a great job
rotating as the facilitator of our management conference. We look forward to Alex
being a great part of our program for years to come.
DR. IVAN CAMACHO
has a very active UM private practice which includes general medical dermatology
as well as a special emphasis on cosmetic dermatology. He was chosen to participate
in the scientific committee of the La Roche-Posay Foundation for dermatological
research and was the invited speaker at the International Society of Dermatology
Meeting’s Dermal Fillers panel.
DR. MERCEDES GONZALEZ
has an active Pediatric Dermatology practice. Dr. Gonzalez is an excellent teacher
and loves interacting with students and residents. She is the lead co-author on a book
called Goodheart’s Photoguide to Common Adult and Pediatric Skin Disorders. Dr.
Gonzalez actively serves on committees for the American Board of Dermatology and
the Society for Pediatric Dermatology. She also speaks at the Annual and Summer
American Academy of Dermatology meetings.
DR. LAURA SCOTT
a 2019 graduating alumni, recently joined our Department as Staff Physician at our
UM Frost: Coral Gables Dermatology practice. Laura is Associate Director of our Skin
of Color Division and is a social media infleuncer.
DR. CAROL LATTOUF
a 2015 graduating alumni, sees patients in our outpatient clinics. Carol is a top
notch clinician and teacher. We are extremely grateful to Carol and all of our former
residents who give back to the department by their support providing teaching and
excellent clinical care.
