capacity in millilitres. Liquids are measured in
a graduated cylinder by pouring the liquid into
the cylinder until the bottom (low point) of
the meniscus is level with the desired volume
mark.
Pipettes
Pipettes (Figure 2.64) are used in laboratory
work to measure and are calibrated ‘to deliver’
or ‘to contain’ liquids.
