Estimated Guest Count | determining your number of guests and how many will attend
Family Style Food Service | Food is delivered on platters or in bowls to the tables for guests to
pass around and serve themselves.
First Look | Bride & Groom see each other in their wedding attire before the ceremony, photo
opportunity and chance to calm nerves.
FOB | Father of the Bride
FOG | Father of the Groom
Food & Beverage | F&B | self-explanatory but often referred to as F&B
Food Stations | Buffet style self-service broken into a variety of stations; stations could be
defined by course, hot & cold, or chef-attended action stations like a pasta bar or carving
station. Food stations can be more expensive due to larger amounts of food needed to create
an attractive display/fill platters/chaffing dishes.
Front of House | FOH | staffing that you and your guests interact with during your event,
servers, captains, bartenders, & dining room managers
G2B | Groom to be
Garden Chairs | “White Woods” | white resin or wood chairs typically used for ceremonies and
cocktail hours, also come in natural wood and black.
GOBO | normally provided by DJ, a glass or metal stencil placed over light to project words or
a symbol on a dance floor or wall, for example the couple’s monogram & wedding date, family
emblem, congratulations along with anything else you can think of to fit your event.
Gratuity | added to subtotal of your Food & Beverage, may be 18%-22% of subtotal that is a tip
for serving staff and is divided by the “house”. Gratuity is not taxed.
Guarantee Guest Count | the number of guests your venue requires typically 3 days prior to
your event. Once guarantee is given you pay for that number of guests regardless if they show
up or not, if your actual guest count is over the guarantee you are charged the additional
guests.
Head Table | designated for bride, groom and bridal party
High Boy | a 30”-36” diameter high table typically used during cocktail hour for guests, standing
only
Hosted Bar | guests enjoy an open bar at no cost to them, couple pays bill entirely, pricing may
be based on a bar package or consumption.
House | the venue or place holding event
Labor Fees | additional fees that may be incurred by the house or providing vendors
