Prestwick Golf Club: Founded in 1851,
Prestwick was the first course used for the Open
Championships and has played host 23 times since!
Although sometimes quirky, Prestwick is definitely
an authentic links course and is always in excellent
condition. The course is not very long, but the
bunkering and the elements are the sources of most
of the difficulty. There is so much history here that
you owe it to yourself to experience it if you are in
the area to play Troon and Turnberry.

Royal Troon Golf Club (Old Course): Royal Troon is simply a great links course and one of
the finest tests of golf to be found anywhere. The
classic “out-and-back” orientation of the layout
adds to the authenticity, and natural undulations
reveal a course that was shaped more by nature than
by man. The views of Ailsa Craig add to the
pleasure of Royal Troon, unless weather becomes a
distraction, which is not uncommon; however, it
can enhance the experience here. The par-3 8th,
known as the Postage Stamp, is Royal Troon's and
one of Scotland’s most famous holes and is
definitely a testament to the fact that length does
not always equal difficulty, and vice versa. Royal
