WHAT IS AN IDEAL TEACHER ACCORDING TO “US”?
• An ideal teacher connects to children as human beings. He/she knows each child intimately and extends a
relationship to children beyond the task of teaching and learning even when classrooms are overcrowded.
A culture of respect, collaboration and acceptance is fostered for all children.
• We presented lessons that brings reality and relevancy to
• the classroom. We engaged with learners into an extent
that were able to help them individually. Therefore,
positive relationships were created, which made it
possible to present a lesson in an overcrowded
classroom.
• An ideal teacher is passionate about their area of study
and instils the love and joy of learning in a classroom.
(we can inspire and encourage a love of
learning in our children, but we can't really
teach it. We can do far better by
creating an environment of support)
• An ideal teacher teaches from where children are, in other words, gaps in learning are addressed and
moments of learning are opportunities that are taken up to explore children’s interest and curiosities.
We allow leaners to prove themselves without
assuming their capabilities. We provided
opportunities of improvement by taking them
to the field every Thursday so to serve their interest
in sport and physical education activities.
