National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is
the pioneering educational institution to
implement life skill integrated curriculum at
national level. At the Secondary and Senior
Secondary levels, NIOS provides flexibility in
the choice of subjects, pace of learning, and
transfer of credits from CBSE, State Board of
School Education and State Open Schools to
enable learner's continuation.
NIOS Orientation Program
It was started as a project with in-built
flexibilities by the Central Board of Secondary DPS Bangalore North is an all India
Education. The National Policy on Education accredited Centre for NIOS. We are
suggested strengthening of Open School System successfully conducting classes for
for extending open learning facilities in a students enrolled under Open Basic
phased manner at basic level, secondary level Education (OBE), secondary and senior
and senior secondary level all over the country secondary level. For the academic session
as an independent system with its own 2016-17 about 169 students are enrolled in
curriculum and examination leading to OBE and 245 students for secondary and
certification. senior secondary level under NIOS. We
have also been conducting regular NIOS in
our school from the academic year 2015.
We have 14 students enrolled for
secondary level and 8 students for senior
secondary level. They are very much part
of the main stream and are actively involved
in all the school activities.
