Revd. Cookie Makaba noted in her sermon that it is very imperative for an
individual to relate to this day by hearing first the word of God and obeying
the word of God. She further stated that to hear the word of God means to
discern, and for one to be able to discern, a personal relationship with God
must be developed. Revd Makaba further looked at what the word of God
say about families and quoted St Paul’s suggestions and recommendations
for families to follow in order to run smoothing (Eph. 5 & 6).
Revd. Makaba closed by sharing Dean Xolani Dlwathi’s message from Los
Angeles (on Sabbatical Leave) with the beloved Family of the Cathedral of St
Mary the Virgin as they gathered for the Annual joyous Patronal Festival —
celebrating the abundant love of God.
