GETTING TO KNOW YOU

Don and Maureen Witte

Don and Maureen have worked the past two years rehabbing their home in Lake Sum-

merset on weekends and began coming to Trinity when in town. Lake Summerset became

their permanent home this past April. We welcomed them as members June 3, 2018.

Don was born in Shreveport, Louisiana. His dad was in the Air Force and Don grew up in

St. Louis and western Chicago suburbs. Maureen was born in Bertha, Minnesota and grew
up near Waterloo, Iowa.

Both Don and Maureen are retired teach-

ers - Don was a middle school history
teacher and Maureen a primary special ed-

ucation teacher. Both taught in the same
school district, Hinkley-Big Rock which is

south of DeKalb.

Don and Maureen married in 2004. They
have three children and ten grandchildren

which keep them busy attending sporting
activities.

Trinity Lutheran reminds Maureen of the
congregation she grew up in - Redeemer

Lutheran in Iowa. Don likes to say he has

dual membership - Catholic and Lutheran.
