Another way we are fulfilling our commission is
our Blessing Boxes. What an amazing way to be
very clear that God favors those who are suffer-
ing. To make it very clear that God deeply loves
those who are struggling. Those boxes are a visi-
ble and tangible demonstration of God’s love to
those who desperately need to hear those words
of love and acceptance in the midst of their des-
pair. It is a wonderful outreach and speaks
volumes about this congregation.
In addition, our Garden Ministry is also a wonderful way to fulfill
Jesus command to go and tell! If you haven’t heard, we have decided
to offer CSA box subscriptions. The proceeds for the sale of this
produce will go toward ELCA World Hunger and purchasing items
for the Blessing Boxes. In addition, during times of production
abundance, produce will once again be delivered to the Plant-A-Row
ministry which takes the produce to Rockford to be used. In addi-
tion, some of our abundance will be given to those using the DEC
food vouchers as well as some of the shut-ins in our community.
Again, this is a very tangible and visible demonstration of God’s
love being made known to those who are hurting.
These are just a small sampling of what we are up to here at Trinity. I am so very excited and
honored to be a part of these ministry initiatives!! They are wonderful and I so hope you are
telling our ministry story to EVERYONE you interact with during your day. When we tell the
story of what God is doing through us we are also sharing with people about this amazing
grace-filled God we have all fallen in love with! We share our stories of ministry and also
share how these ministries help change the world and in so doing we also invite those around
us to ‘come and see’…to join us in our work, to experience the life-giving love of Jesus, to be
utterly transformed by God’s grace!
Off to share our story,
Pastor Pat
