v- A fax: a document that travels in electronic form along a
telephone line and is then printed on paper.

• Example:
- I have not sent the fax to Mrs. Johns yet.

w- A telex: a method of sending written messages down a
telephone line from one teleprinter to another. It is also the
machine which does this, or the message itself.

• Example:
- The price details will be sent to you by telex.

x- A telegram "British English = A telegram – A wire
"American English": a piece of paper with a message sent
by telegraph.

• Example:
- I received the flight's timetable from the travel agent's by

telegram.

2.2 Category B:

a- A correspondent: someone who writes letters.
• Example:
- Lynda is not a very good correspondent. She won't write

the letter effectively.
