In Iran, I bought a dress: the
right sleeve was sewn with
red thread, the left sleeve
with purple. Did it matter?
Little by little, I let go of “the
right way to do things.”
In New Delhi, I visited Sri
Aurobindo’s Ashram, as I had
read several of his books. He
had passed away by then, but
had a couple of ashrams in
India.
I spoke with the guru there who told me that
I could travel around the whole world, and
not find what I was seeking. It was to be
found inside of me.
“Seek inner wisdom” was a message I
received when I was 21. Meditation and
mindfulness are in full swing in the United
States nowadays.
