Durham Touchpoints Collaborative (DTC)
Impact on families: Families are reporting working with practitioners who support them during
the most difficult times, while honoring them as the experts about their own children.
Practitioners are reporting that some of the hardest to reach families are more responsive as a
result of them using the Touchpoints approach.
Who are the practitioners: Practitioners come from all disciplines (public schools, early head
start, head start, public library, health care/clinic, homeless shelter, social services, health
department, and nonprofit organizations that serve young children and families)
Impact on your community: The impact on the community has been tremendous. Practitioners
from various organizations are networking to create better opportunities and service delivery for
families. By using the Touchpoints approach, families and the community benefit from a shared
language and approach that prove to be effective for all.
Highlights: Since its inception (May 2013) of the Durham Touchpoints Collaborative, we are
pleased to report the following:
- 151 providers from across disciplines have been trained in Touchpoints
