anti cancer benefits, and when combined the anti
cancer becomes more significant concerning the
inhibition of tumor growth as well as the invasion of
surrounding tissue. Another benefit of this
combination is that it is also safe, with few side effects.
The November 2002 issue of the journal “molecular
nutrition and food research” stated that apigenin found
in chamomile could be particularly useful in the
prevention of gastrointestinal cancer. Apigenin, which
is formed in the digestive tract, can inhibit cancer cell
growth and blood supply to cancerous tumors,
according to the journal. At Ohio state university,
scientists discovered that apigenin can block the
ability for cancer cells to live , which prevents their
ability to spread and also causes them to be more
sensitive to drug therapy. Along with chamomile tea,
celery and parsley are known among the highest
source of apigenin. Though it is also found in fruits and
vegetables, mostly those found in a Mediterranean diet.
Apigenin helps to correct the abnormalities in RNA,
which are molecules that carry genetic information,
which is responsible for around 80% of cancers.
