Cranberry Shores Chorus
The second half of 2023 kicked off in July with our annual gig of singing the National Anthem at the Cape
Cod baseball league game in Hyannis. Then in October, we were invited to perform at the ladies’ high tea
at Pine Hills in Plymouth. What a delight it was to look out across an audience sporting a sea of
fascinators!
Then, in November we were hit with a stroke of bad luck. The hall at the church we have been rehearsing
in for as long as most can remember was shut down due to the discovery of asbestos in the floor tiles. We
and our risers were removed and we have had to relocate to a smaller, challenging hall at the church.
But then, amid this unfortunate circumstance, we were blessed with holiday good luck when two women
passed their audition in December! Jolene McGuirk (left) and Valerie Dodge (right) both sing lead and
will be two wonderful additions to our chorus.
As in past years, we had a great time entertaining the citizens of Cape Cod for the holidays. More than in
past years, this year we sang at five different holiday strolls – Hyannis, Osterville, West Dennis, Chatham,
and Falmouth - and everywhere we sang our music was enthusiastically appreciated.
