Valley Chords Chorus (continued)

We jumped into January with a membership drive and have had three guests at our last two rehearsals
all of whom bring great energy and beautiful voices to the group – we are hopeful that they will all
choose to join.

Given that the stars aligned to have all three of our beloved quartets on the international stage during our
regular rehearsal time, a watch party was a no-brainer. Tricia suggested that we select a theme and enter
the SAI Ignite the Sound Webcast Watch Party Micro-Contest.
Through an excited, and somewhat frenzied group effort, we pulled together a baseball themed
gathering - complete with a bag of retired bats, many of which happened to be Louisville Sluggers! We
had some amazing on-the-spot creativity to capture us all in a photo and were thrilled to win the $1,000
prize. We know that this was largely due to your support in casting votes for us – WE LOVE YOU
REGION ONE!!!!

As I write this I have much to look forward to in just this upcoming week. On Wednesday, the chorus
will be meeting with the potential new director and running the final week of our membership program.
On Saturday we have a crew of 10 - including our 3 new members and one guest - traveling to Amherst
for coaching and, I’m sure, a ton of fun at the Watchamacallit!

It is our hope that in my next entry we will be able to share with you all that we have a director and have
been able to recharter!
