Berkshire Hills Chorus (continued)

Our first sing-out since March 2020 was held in Pittsfield on October 30th for the Kiwanis Club
commemoration of local Veterans. A flag ceremony was held on the grounds of Park Square in Pittsfield,
Massachusetts. It was a cold rainy afternoon, but the feelings of the moment shared honoring our Veterans’
past and present was so poignant.

Pittsfield Community Television invited the Chorus on November 17th to tape six holiday songs as part of
the virtual celebration to air when the Annual Pittsfield Tree Lighting Ceremony was to occur. We had so
much fun together and after the taping felt the Holiday spirit in the air and decided to go to our local
Walmart Plaza for pop up flash mob singing! It was received positively by the store guests and the sound
was so beautiful to usher in the Holiday Season. We wanted to try to sing Christmas carols in Berkshire
County and the thought was to split the County in half, North County and South County. Two small groups
were formed, and the groups planned their caroling in conjunction with community events. It involved
coordinating dates and times with the venues and the two groups. We sang at our local hospital, homeless
shelter, and downtown shops in Berkshire County to name a few.
