2. Assessment of Learning
▪ It includes the assessments done after instruction.
▪ It is usually referred to as Summative Assessment.
▪ It includes long quizzes, periodical tests, Form 138, standardized
tests.
3. Assessment as Learning
▪ It refers to assessment done for teachers to understand and perform
well their role of assessing FOR and OF learning.
▪ It requires teachers to undergo trainings on how to assess learning
and be equipped with the competencies needed in performing their
work as assessors.
STEPS IN CONSTRUCTING A TEST
Step 1—Planning the Test
▪ What is to be measured?
▪ What content area should be included?
▪ What types of test items are to be included?
Step 2—Preparing the Test
▪ Preparing the Test items based on the Table of Specifications
▪ Preparing Instruction for the Test
▪ Preparing the Scoring key
▪ Consulting with experts—subject teacher/test expert for validation (content)
and editing
Step 3—Trying out of the Test
▪ First trial run using 50-100 students
▪ Scoring
▪ First Item analysis to determine difficulty and discrimination indices
▪ First Option analysis
▪ Revision of the Test items based on the results of test item analysis
▪ Second trial run or field testing
