Procedure for the cake filling

                . In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment,

                  cream together the sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Add the
                  egg and vanilla and beat until fully incorporated.

                . In another bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking powder.

                  Add half of the flour mixture to the sugar mixture and mix. Add half
                  of the buttermilk and mix. Add the remaining flour and then the
