I have met people who say they eat this frosting on its own, without a cupcake.
And I’ll have to admit, it’s that good. But I like to pair it with cake and suggest
the Pretty in Pink Strawberry Cupcakes (page 106), The Best Birthday Cupcakes
with Two Frostings (page 138), or any vanilla cupcake you happen to be baking.
MAKES 3 CUPS, ENOUGH TO FROST 24 CUPCAKES (2½-INCH
SIZE) GENEROUSLY

It takes about ¾ cup rinsed, well-drained, and hulled strawberries to make ½
cup mashed. Take care to drain out as much juice as you can and reserve it.
