Introduction






               Established in 1979, Bhukulani Secondary school is a public secondary school based
               in Masingafi Street in Zondi, Soweto. The school is located in a central location. It can

               be accessed through public transport as it is located near a Rea Vaya bus stop and

               Jabulani Mall which also serves as a taxi rank. This area has access to social and
               educational resources such as a library, skills centre, social support centre, sports

               complex, community hall and recreational centre.

               Furthermore, the school has a feeding scheme to assist learners from impoverished

               backgrounds. There are also security guards who ensure that no trespassing takes
               place. By doing that, the safety of the learners, teachers and the school premises is

               guaranteed. In addition to these, Bhukulani has a netball court, water taps, technology

               centre, a lab centre and a library.

               Since the appointment of Dr: Mathe as the school’s principal the school is known for
               producing brilliant matric pass rates. The pass rate ranges from 90% and 98%.


               The  staff  members  consist  of  an  acting  principal,  two  deputy  principal,  Heads  of
               Departments, teachers and non-academic general members. There is also a School

               Governing  Body  that  is  made  up  of  parents,  educators and  other  stakeholders. In

               addition, the learners also have a representative body known as the RCL. All these
               form the governance of the school.


               All these stakeholders are responsible for ensuring that Bhukulani continue to serve
               its  purpose  to  the  community  and  that  it  is  always  in  a  condition  that  promotes

               meaningful learning and teaching.
