Chicken in Delicious Sauce

                 Amount  Measure       Ingredient -- Preparation Method

                 6                     skinless boneless chicken breasts
                 1/2              cup  butter
                 2           packages  salad dressing base -- "Good Seasons"
                 1                cup  white wine
                 2               cans  Cream of Mushroom, 98% Fat Free -- Golden
                 8             ounces  cream cheese -- softened
                 1/4            pound  fresh mushrooms -- sliced

               In a large saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Add the packages of salad
               dressing and blend. Stir in the soup and wine. Blend in the cream cheese
               and stir until smooth. Add the mushrooms and heat through gently.

               Arrange chicken breasts over a thin layer of the sauce in a greased
               casserole dish. Pour the rest of the sauce over the chicken.

               Bake in a preheated 325º oven for 1 hour. Serve over pasta or with rice.

               NOTES : I made this on November 1, 2002.  It was good.  Even Les
                       said it was a keeper and he is not a big chicken fan.  I
                       served it with rice and a green salad.
