RTI Team Requirements and Responsibilities
Chairperson
● Receive student referrals from classroom teachers
● Provide referring teacher with forms to complete to bring to the RTI meeting
● Print or request test data from Enrich for student referrals prior to the meeting
● Schedule RTI meetings
● Assign duties to the team - timekeeper, minute taker
● Conduct the meeting - review the teacher referral form, define the problem, develop the intervention
plan, schedule the follow-up meeting
● Conduct the follow-up meeting -Complete the Analysis of Intervention Form and determine whether
additional interventions are needed or whether the student needs Tier III interventions
Referring Teacher
● Contact the RTI Chairperson for a referral form
● Complete the referral form and include any assessment data that is appropriate
● Attend the RTI meeting
● Present the information from the teacher referral form to the team
● Participate in the RTI team process - define the problem, develop the intervention plan
● Monitor student progress
● Report results to the team at a follow-up meeting
Team Member
● Attend RTI meetings as requested
● Participate in the team discussion to define the problem and create the intervention plan.
● Attend follow-up meetings
School Psychologist
● If appropriate (during a Tier III meeting), attend RTI meetings and offer intervention suggestions and
progress monitoring tools.
