Cannons Elementary School
Cannons Elementary School's fifth graders made chalk as a
result of a chemical reaction!! They enjoyed writing on the
sidewalk with their new substance.
Fifth grade students, at Cannons
Elementary School, built “Hooverville
Houses” that they constructed from
recycled materials. When the Great
Depression happened, many families lost
their jobs and their homes. They had to
construct a “house” out of whatever
materials they could find. Many people
used discarded lumber, old signs,
cardboard, and tar paper. They called
them “Hoovervilles” because they blamed After career week, Cannons Elementary
President Hoover for their losses. School’s four-year kindergarten students
have decided what they want to be when
they grow up.
