GUESTS

        Guests’ Positive
        Impressions of LTHC

There were many common themes among the guests on what they meals
like about LTHC and their services including everything from the
food to job-finding assistance. For their own well-being, the guests
receive three meals a day that they greatly appreciate. They are
also provided shelter that keeps them out of the Indiana weath-
er. The donations of clothes and basic hygiene necessities, such as
toothbrushes and toothpaste, have also improved the guests’ basic
well-being. Many guests don’t own appropriate clothes for Indiana’s
winter. The LTHC Goodwill vouchers program has been instru-
mental in helping them to have appropriate clothes.
                                                                              job search help

Guests have found case managers to be extremely helpful in their
search for employment and apartments. Guests describe the case
managers as always available and eager to help. The helpfulness of
the case managers is important to them because it has the potential
to help them permanently escape homelessness. Guests have also
found that LTHC keeps them out of trouble, and one guest even
described LTHC as a lifeline for him.
The guests have often found themselves referring others to LTHC.
One guest mentioned how he refers everyone he knows and sees to
LTHC, ranging from his close friends to people he sees around the hygiene products

community who seem as though they are also experiencing home-
lessness. Another guest mentioned that his friend from East Chica-
go is moving to Lafayette to use LTHC’s services. Guests also have
found that information about LTHC’s services spreads quickly on
        the bus system.
