What we need is power and the source is the Cross. It cannot be

explained, it has no philosophy, and it can only be received by

faith.

1 Corinthians 2:5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom

of men,but in the power of God.

The Cross is the power. We must by faith in obedience to God

receive this.

Philippians 3:18 For many walk, of whom I have told you often,

and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the

cross of Christ:

This scripture is now more real to me than ever before. I see the

rebellion that exists in the church, and their attitude toward the

cross. They are very glad that Jesus took his up, but they refuse

their own. As long as this is the case there shall be no power in

the body, for the cross is to us that believe, the power of God.

In A.D. 313 Constantine with his army marched into Italy to

take the throne from Maxentius, who was a brutal persecutor of

Christians, also he was a magician and a Pagan. It was a brutal
