THE VEIL
Every person that you meet in your life can have a profound
effect on you. They can leave a good, or a bad impression.
Those impressions are shaped into a defense mechanism that
helps us to discern the intentions of each new individual we
meet. For example I remember a man; he was the friendliest
person you could ever meet. He was very helpful and very
funny. This likable personality he possessed was only a tool to
gain your confidence. One of the things he used to say was, I see
you need a little help and I’ve come to help you out. This was
only a veil to cover up what he really meant. He saw an
opportunity in my distress to help me out of something he
wanted. It was my money, and I gave it to him willingly,
thinking that I was getting something that would help me. The
ability to overshadow has always been the tool of the Con man.
Since I have experienced this for myself, I now have a built in
discernment for people who try to help me out. This deception is
also found in the preaching of the Gospel, as did the Apostles
reveal in their day, and shall be revealed in yours.
2 Corinthians 11:12-15 But what I do, that I will do, that I may
cut off occasion from them who desire occasion; that when they
glory, they may be found even as we. For such are false
apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the
Apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is
transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing
