18. Blinded by sin

We can be blinded by our sin, covering it up with

self-righteousness, not taking into consideration that the things

that are happening to us may be the result of sin. Instead we

make excuses and find doctrines to satisfy our situation, instead

of repentance and seeking God’s will for our life. If we continue

in such a place, we become the blind leading the blind and there
is only one place we can end up, it is the ditch. We say we are

just as good as anyone else, but all have sinned and come short

of God’s glory. We find others who share in our philosophies so

as to make ourselves feel comfortable, but really we have found

company so we don’t have to perish alone. Yea, truth fails; and

he that departs from evil makes himself a prey: and the LORD

saw it, and it displeased him that there was no justice. And he

saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no

intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and

his righteousness, it sustained him. For he put on righteousness

as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation upon his head; and he

put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad

               with zeal as a cloak
