18. Blinded by sin
We can be blinded by our sin, covering it up with
self-righteousness, not taking into consideration that the things
that are happening to us may be the result of sin. Instead we
make excuses and find doctrines to satisfy our situation, instead
of repentance and seeking God’s will for our life. If we continue
in such a place, we become the blind leading the blind and there
is only one place we can end up, it is the ditch. We say we are
just as good as anyone else, but all have sinned and come short
of God’s glory. We find others who share in our philosophies so
as to make ourselves feel comfortable, but really we have found
company so we don’t have to perish alone. Yea, truth fails; and
he that departs from evil makes himself a prey: and the LORD
saw it, and it displeased him that there was no justice. And he
saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no
intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and
his righteousness, it sustained him. For he put on righteousness
as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation upon his head; and he
put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad
with zeal as a cloak
