Y6 Autumn Term Part 1. CW Lesson 1

                                                CORRECT WORDS

            Truth to Teach (Source)

John 1: 1, 14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
                                         and the Word was God.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we
beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the
Father,) full of grace and truth.

Psalm 18:30 As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is
tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him

Proverbs 25:11 A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of

                                         silver.

 We are made in the image of God to communicate with him and with each
                   other.

 It is important that we learn to communicate accurately, truthfully and
effectively in order to serve God into whichever sphere he may call us.

 To identify nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, pronouns, prepositions and
                   connectives / conjunctions within sentences.

 To introduce articles – the, a, an.

            Way to Work (Means)

                1. Re-envision the children on the importance of accurate communication. Refer
                    to the above verses.

                2. Write the word article on the board and ask the children if they know which
words are known as articles (the, a, an). Talk about these words being small

but important. Give the children a set time to count the articles in a paragraph
of their reading book or a psalm in the Bible.

                3. Give the children the first worksheet to fill in, preferably without looking at

the answers hidden around the room (see separate sheet for answers).
