DEFINITIONS FOR GRAMMAR
Noun A noun is the name of a person,
place, thing or idea/thought/feeling.
Verb A verb is a doing or being word.
Adjective An adjective describes the noun.
An adverb tells us more about the
Adverb verb. It says how, when and where
an action takes place.
Pronoun A pronoun takes the place of a
noun.
Preposition A preposition describes position,
direction or time.
Connective Connectives are linking words. They
link ideas in separate sentences.
Conjunction Conjunctions are connectives which
link ideas in the same sentence.
