Excuse my bluntness -- whether you like it, or not -- nobody gives a damn about you,
but yourself. So, feeling sad and sorry does not do you any good either.

Thirdly, as a how-to guide, it is my hope that the steps enumerated herein will
help guide you to avoid certain pit holes; the book contains my true account of a

never-before-fathom personal experience in which my well-organized and sheltered
world pugnaciously deviated off course into a state of utter confusion and turned my
orderly life into a roller coaster of misfortune and pandemonium. My perfect world

is thrown into chaos! To that end, I asked: how can I help the next person; and what
will be the greatest take away for the next woman or man?

Over the next several months, I found myself in a fight of my life, and in a

world, I never thought existed -- viciousness, barbarism and sadism -- along with
several events which pushed me and my daughter's well-being and sanity to the
brink. Soon, I found myself asking the question, "if this was still the United States of
      America?"

February 25 -- after seventy-one days' retreat in beautiful Punta Cana -- I
returned from my "obligatory" vacation, disheartened and destitute. Stuck at the
airport -- with nowhere to go or a place to call home -- I hunkered down on the

terminal's first floor. Holding on to my 3-piece Spinner charcoal luggage set and a
smartphone that needed reactivation -- I used my laptop to connect to the Lafayette
Regional Airport's public Wi-Fi -- sent an email to my daughter. I composed a second

email to REMA -- a dear friend -- in Saint Louis, Missouri; then sat back and wait.

Twenty-six hours -- and counting -- a deputy sheriff who'd notice Alonzo the
previous day, approaches. Deputy RICHARD learnt of Alonzo’s predicament.
Empathetically, Deputy Richard places a call to a friend, and gave Alonzo’s cell

number to this friend. And the friend promised to get back with Alonzo.
