possess both the intellect and experiential know-how, but I can honestly write that I
may have been in a piss-poor state of mind at that period. Imagine being at the top
and having it all, only to find yourself on the streets.

A second reservation, I never saw myself as being proficient in the English

language, let alone a writer. Though I have written professional articles and fund-
raising campaigns, as well as developed Power Points and other presentation
materials -- including having presented at Council for Advancement and Support of

Education (CASE), I never considered myself a writer.

A third reservation is I am more science-inclined than the arts or literature.
Going back to high school, through college, and before my senior year, I was an
electrical engineering major. Yes, I am always fascinated with photons and electrical

energy and magnetism -- including an interest on a wide range of hands-on
experiences, critical-thinking opportunities, and real-world applications. I seldom
devoted the time and energy to read literature or stories. The exception -- writing
materials -- related to a job or an assignment. For example, I made the time to go to

the library ... Yes, remember the building with tons of magazines, books and articles
for research purposes. Being an engineering student, my focus was on mathematics
and sciences -- calculus, differential equations, engineering physics and chemistry,
thermodynamics, statics, and operations research -- nothing about writing.

However, in exploring more, I recall the Advanced English Technical Writing
course I took in my fifth semester of college. The course prepared me to compose
written products appropriate to contexts which require technical communication

forms produced by engineers in their everyday professional lives. Without boring
you, this course forms the foundation for my new-found passion. The online class on
writing screenplays further solidifies the basis for writing this non-fiction. I came to
